Coldplay Song and Other Inspiration

Coldplay Inspiration

"Once upon a time, I tried to get myself together
Be more like the sky and welcome every kind of weather
Be more eagle-like and find the flight in every feather

Once upon a time, but I’m still trying to get better
Maybe I’m just crazy, I should just be a brick in the wall
Sit and watch the TV, blame everyone else for it all

But I’m trying to trust in the Heavens above
And I’m trying to trust in a world full of love
Fire and water and constantly dream
Of the balance of things and the music between..."

This new song, Moon Music, by Coldplay, makes me tear up when I hear it. You probably need to listen to it with the music to understand. Sometimes I do wonder if I am crazy in trying to do what we are doing. And there is this longing in the lyrics and music... to just heal and to trust.

There is another song on the same album called We Pray. When I was listening to it during my workout the other day, I had images of kids we will one day help come to my mind. They were in their beds praying. The lyrics hit me pretty hard:

What I Feel

I recently wrote a post about

why we need a miracle

to get back to Mexico and continue this work.

Before that post, I wrote about

three boys, their prayers, and how they kept me going.

We Pray by Coldplay captures some of what I am trying to convey. This work is so important.

Event Coming Up

If you live in Utah, or know someone who does, please let them know about this event coming up. It will be a great way to get some Christmas shopping done while supporting a good cause.

Or if you or your kids want to serve, you can come sell treats, crafts, or other creations to help our work.

Thank You!

I hope you are doing well during this busy time of year. I pray for you all too, that God will strengthen you in whatever hard you are dealing with. I pray with gratitude in my heart for you, for following this journey and being a part of what we are doing. We know we are not alone, and that makes a world of difference. Thank you!

with lots of love,

Karen Bates
