Meet EdWIN
Edwin moved into an orphanage at age 14, about a year after his mother died. When we met him there, he told us of his hope to become a barber. He also wrote poetry and music and shared some of it with us.
When he turned 18, he wanted to continue his education, but he also wanted to work because he heard his mother's body had not been claimed. He wanted to claim it, have it cremated, and sent to Tijuana from Mexico City.
This summer, he contacted me. He said he had saved up for his mother and wanted to come live with us and work towards becoming a lawyer for children.
He said he felt the kids were not represented well in the orphange system and he wanted to be someone who advocated for them.
He is now here, working for us as he finishes his high school degree so he can start working on this dream.
He works really hard; our house and yard are much cleaner since he arrived. Will you help us pay him for his work so he can have the resources he needs to continue forward with his goals?
We need 4 sponsors at $50 per month or 7 at $30 per month to be able to continue helping Edwin until he graduates with his law school.
Meet Isa
Isa has been working to support his family since his father died when he was eight years old.
He remembers his mother telling him he could quit when she'd see him crying after doing very heavy labor through the day. But he also remembers how proud he felt when he earned his first paycheck as a little boy.
While helping provide for his family, he graduated from high school and taught himself valuable skills, including barbering, video editing, painting, teaching art classes, building, gardening, design, and more.
Isa has volunteered countless hours to help this work grow. He has built, planted, created videos, taught classes, and created business and social media plans.
We want to officially hire him as our publicity director so we can support him in continuing his education while helping care for his family.

Meet Gibran
Our first banana flower thanks to Josue and his parents
Gibran helped us with our home through the summer. We met him at church. He was the first person to get baptized when missionaries got sent to our area a couple of years ago. He saw them on the street, approached them, and asked them to teach him.
He is now back in High School and he just got elected president of the Student Body.
He has a lot of ideas about how to help the youth at school who are not motivated to learn and participate.
He asked us to come run our program at the High School. We talked to the principal and she also wants us to do programs for the teachers who also lack motivation.
We will be doing activities and discussions with groups of 20-30 youth every 50 minutes on Fridays and also teacher workshops.
We need some help sponsoring gas (the high school is 30 minutes away) and supplies for these activities for these youth during the school year.
We need 2 sponsors at $50 per month or 3 sponsors at $30 per month to be able to do this.
Meet johanan
Johanan was homeschooling her two boys when she realized there were kids in the neighborhood who were not going to school. She learned it was often because they had been kicked out of school because of learning disabilities or neurodivergent behaviors.
She began inviting them to her home. She asked the parents to help supply materials and books, but she often bought materials and snacks at her own expense.
In addition to academics and helping them get their school certificates, she taught them about character through story and leadership through our ropes course.
She did this labor of love for years, and the school began to meet at our home. But growing expenses put her back into the workforce, and she could no longer teach. This has been hard for the kids who no longer have access to education. Some of their parents cannot read.
We would love to be able to pay her as a teacher so she can start doing the work she loves while also helping to provide for her family.
We need 10 sponsors at $50 per month to get Johanan back to her students.
Meet kaique
Kaique decided to leave a very difficult environment in Brazil to go into the world to see how he could make it better.
He taught himself Korean, Spanish, and English. Then taught language classes to fund his traveling volunteer work and leadership workshops.
He now volunteers with us and teaches English, guitar and choir classes, cares for the animals and home, designs our flyers and billboards, and is in charge of social media for our ropes course.
Kaique earns money through the classes he teaches online, but has also seen a great need in the local communities for learning English.
Most of these communities cannot afford to pay for English classes, so he charges very little and spends his money to get to the different areas. This is not sustainable for him.
We would love to sponsor his English students so that Kaique can continue doing the work he is passionate about for more children, youth, and adults who are anxious to learn English so they can get better jobs with better pay.
We need 4 donors at $50 per month to sponsor these students.
