A Family Environment

We want everyone who walks through our front door to feel a sense of home and belonging. It's been a blessing to have Isa, Kai, and Edwin living with us (You can read more about Isa, Kai, and Edwin on our "Future Leaders" page), as well as the volunteers who come out to help . As we serve and grow together, we feel united and close even with those whose time here is short.

Children play chess at tables in a rustic room filled with artwork and a whiteboard.

Another way we create this family environment is by creating routines that foster growth. Monday night is game night, Tuesday is book discussion night, Wednesday is Chess club, Thursday is cultural dancing, and Sunday is talent night.

At 8:30, we have morning devotionals, where we all have the opportunity to share a thought from our scriptures. Evenings at 7, we take turns leading the evening devotional. Whoever leads it shares a lesson and asks discussion questions.

After morning devotional is work time, and after work time is study time.

Mondays, we go to a local high school to play games and have discussions that teach life principles that motivate the youth to learn and grow. We do the same thing on Thursdays at a local library.

These routines and projects help us create an environment of love and a feeling of "home" wherever we go.

Thank you!

P.S. We welcomed a new member to the family this week. Meet Phoenix. Or Pumpkin. We haven't settled on a name yet :)
